Mexican Doritos Casserole


2 lbs. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pkt. taco seasoning
1 1/2 T. chili powder
1/2 C. water
10.5 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
2, 4 oz. cans diced green chilies
15.5 oz, can kidney beans, drained
9 1/4 oz. bag doritos
2 C. shredded cheddar cheese


Begin browning the ground beef in a skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. About 3/4 of the way cooking add in the onion and cook the meat through. Drain off the grease and stir in the garlic, cooking for 1 minute. Stir in the taco seasoning, chili powder and water. Combine well then stir in the cream of mushroom soup. Once combined add the diced green chilies and kidney beans. Cook for 5 minutes. Lightly grease a 2.5 quart baking dish. Roughly crush the bag of doritos and put half in the bottom of the pan. Top with half of the meat mixture then half of the cheese. Repeat for 1 more layer. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
