Ingredints
1/3 C. milk
1/3 C. water
2 T. unsalted butter
2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast
2 tsp. sugar
1 large egg, room temp.
2 C. all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
Topping
2 T. butter, melted
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
finely grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
Using a microwave proof measuring cup add the milk, water and butter. Microwave at 15 sec. intervals till the mixture is 110 degrees, the butter may not be completely melted which is fine. To the bowl of a stand mixer add the yeast and sugar. Pour the heated milk mixture into the bowl and let it proof for 5 minutes. Add the egg, flour and salt. Begin mixing on low until a soft dough forms. Depending on the humidity you may need to add a little more flour, the dough should not be sticky or stiff, just soft to the touch. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, till smooth and elastic. Cover with a clean towel and let it rest for 10 minutes. Roll the dough with your hands into a 12" long log. Cut into 8 even pieces and roll them into a ball. Place in a greased 9" cake pan. Combine the melted butter and garlic powder and brush each roll. Sprinkle some grated parmesan cheese over the top of each roll. Let them rest for 20-25 minutes, until doubled in size. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 14-16 minutes.
Enjoy!!!
